ObamaCare Mandate Declared Unconstitutional

A Virginia federal district court has invalidated the provision in "ObamaCare" which required people to enroll in health insurance plans.  Crime, Politics and Policy: By Eric Dixon was among the first sources anywhere to discover and report that the health reform bills sought to force people to enroll -- that is, to pay -- for health insurance under penalty of fines or even jail time as contemplated in the Max Baucus-sponsored Senate bill and later also in November 2009 when the final bill was passed.

Victory is premature on this issue.  Be warned, however, that there are many lawsuits on this issue, and many judges have yet to render decisions.  The federal circuit courts will likely consolidate and then resolve these issues at the appellate level, and then the road leads to the Supreme Court.
