Crooked Lawyer Puts Board of Elections on High Alert

A crooked election lawyer threatens to make a lot of people in and around the New York City Board of Elections very, very nervous.

Republican campaign operative and election lawyer Anthony Mangone pleaded guilty to federal felonies for conspiracy and tax fraud in Westchester federal court this past week.  He may cooperate with an ongoing criminal investigation into the selection process by the City Board of Elections of a vendor for the controversial new vote scanner machines that were put into place this past election season.

There is no telling what misdeeds could be revealed with an in-depth inquiry into the Board of Elections.  There could be revelations about irregularities in voting, voter registration and enrollment, and petition activities.  Let's look forward to see what happens.

Eric Dixon is a New York lawyer who handles some election law matters for candidates.  Mr. Dixon neither represents nor has any known connection to anyone who works at the Board of Elections.  Mr. Dixon is available for comment or consultation at 917-696-2442 and via e-mail at edixon@NYBusinessCounsel.com
